Media and communications are becoming increasingly important worldwide. Therefore, a solid training for young researchers in the field of media and communication studies is of high relevance. The University of Bremen makes a significant contribution here. Together with strong partners, ZeMKI researchers are organizing the European Media and Communication Doctoral Summer School of the European Communication and Education Association (ECREA) for the next three years. In order to achieve this, ZeMKI is cooperating with 21 partner universities, the ECREA, the Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences (BIGSSS) and the research network “Communicative figurations“. This year, the two-week event is funded as part of the summer academy programme of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and mainly financed by the German Foreign Office (AA).
In total, 44 doctoral students can participate. In addition, 25 renowned researchers of media and communication studies from across Europe will come to Bremen to provide the PhD students with valuable feedback. The application deadline for PhD students is the 15th of March.
